Too stylized and modern looking and popcorn fare for Oscar.
Doesn't mean it won't be any good or I won't like it. Plus it's a huge ensemble piece, so that might hurt Depp's chances for an acting nomination.
I also think Mann should have went with a authentic black and white look instead of color.
A great Movie...Those who liked Leo DiCaprio's Aviator will love this film with Johnny Depp as Dillinger (Johnny Deep was great as usual..he can play any part...)and Christian Bale as the relentless Melvin Purviss who is perusing him. The movie is filled with jailbreaks, bank robberies old fashioned shootouts...
