Satellite Awards Nominations

Yesterday the International Press Association announced the nominees for the 14th Satellite Awards. The awards are usually awarded mid-December, so this is the 1st major precursor for the Oscar ceremony. Last year it correctly predicted Slumdog Millionaire for Best Picture, WALL-E as Best Animated Feature Film and Danny Boyle as Best Director. Well you've probably noticed major absences from the nominations, notably The Lovely Bones and Avatar (we'll have to see the critics to see the buzz). Nine leads the way with 10 nominations so look for this to be the early favorite going into this year's award season. What do you think?
