LUST, CAUTION wins the Golden Lion!

Ang Lee's "Lust, Caution" takes the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Perhaps the subject matter isn't a turn off...

Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt(how did this happen?) pick up the two acting awards.

Ben Affleck won last year...

True but Ben Affleck did have some buzz for "Hollywoodland". I didn't even know Brad Pitt was considered a contender this year!

I kinda hope that Lust, Caution doesn't become a major contender, because it would be illegal for me to see it. Sigh. How can a man as brilliant as Ang Lee not recognize that he should cut a film if it's rated NC-17?

because he shouldn't cut it. I too can't see it legally but I don't care. I'd rather see his vision on DVD then the abridged version in theaters

Well, it's kind of ridiculous to care about ratings. I mean, who cares, leave the MPAA alone and go watch the film lol.

Also Brian, this site has been centered too much around ratings. You should probably follow the vibe that the site used to have. That's just my humble opinion anyways but still.

Eh, besides posting the new ratings on Wednesday and the Lust, Caution coverage, I can't think of any other time when ratings have come up, but if you guys agree, then we'll drop the Wednesday ratings posts.

Also, if anyone would like me to cover something continuously, that would lead to much more posts. Post your suggestions here.
