You know, when I first posted "Capote v. Infamous: Part One" months ago...I never ever thought that there would be three more cases. Here we go:
In 2008, this year, Gus Van Sant brings us Milk, the story of Harvey Milk, California's first openly gay elected official. The film stars Sean Penn as Milk and Josh Brolin as Dan White, his assassin. Written by Dustin Lance Black, many have high hopes for this feature.
In 2009, Brian Singer will bring us The Mayor of Castro Street, the story of Harvey Milk, California's first openly gay elected official. The film is written by Christopher McQuarrie, the writer of The Usual Suspects and this year's Valkyrie.
It's exhausting, isn't it?

Your statement, "In 2009, Brian Singer will bring us The Mayor of Castro Street," is premature.
The film has no cast, crew, nor start date. Furthermore, in interviews, producer Craig Zadan has proclaimed that if Mr Van Sant's film got made first, "Mayor of Castro Street" would remain in limbo. ["They [Van Sant, Focus] haven't starting shooting yet, so anything can happen. Van Sant's "Milk" wrapped principle photography yesterday.
Note-- In 1993, Mr Van Sant had been signed to direct "Mayor" before the project's financing collapsed.
The only thing I was really aiming for in this was to point out that there could be/are two films that will be about the same person. If Singer's film doesn't end up getting made then I will express my deepest apologies to anyone that I offended by posting this.
