I see 'Milk' as the one to beat this year. Sean Penn inhabits the role, and I don't think most people know the story, which is essentially about civil rights. Josh Brolin finally has found his breakthrough role, so I'm hoping his step-mom, Barbra Streisand, will be presenting the Best Picture award to him and the film. Gus Van Sant should be so proud, after all he has done to make these kinds of movies.
