Today is the day that the Oscar season will officially (not to discount the Spirits...) begin. With the National Board of Review winners comes that undeniable sense of continual buzz that cannot be ignored. In the coming weeks, more and more critics' awards will be handed out and with each one more and more anticipation for the official nominations and then the winners. I won't say anything else so here are my predictions for this year's National Board of Review (excluding independent, foreign, and documentary...I regret to say that I would not even know where to begin with those except hopefully In Bruges will be one of them). Here we go.

I threw in a couple of oddball picks just to keep it interesting. Last year the winner of the NBR wasn't included in the Top Ten, so I followed that similar trend. What are your predictions for the awards tonight?
