Having being snubbed by the AFI's top 10 list just a few hours earlier, the NYFCO voted James Cameron's Avatar as Best Picture of 2009. Fans of the visual spectacle will be pleased to see the film finally win an award since it needs to pick up the pace to make the top 10 at the Oscars.
