Here's the shortlist:
Alvin and the Chipmunks
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters
Bee Movie
Beowulf
Meet the Robinsons
Persepolis
Ratatouille
Shrek the Third
The Simpsons Movie
Surf’s Up
Tekkonkinkreet
TMNT
Predicting the nominees seems easy: Ratatouille, The Simpsons Movie and a battle between Beowulf and Persepolis for the final spot. That said, they do love to throw curveballs in this category, so Surf's Up and Shrek could also be contenders. Either way, Ratatouille is a lock (duh).

or is it Ratatouille and Persepolis with a battle between TSM and Beowulf?
No. "Ratatouille" is the best reviewed film of the year (so far) + It's Pixar...
How can the Academy say no?
Sorry about that, read it wrong.
My predictions:
-Persepolis: Won the jury Award in Cannes, very well reviewed and the film represents France...
-The Simpsons Movie: Box Office, good reviewed and a succesful TV Show
-Ratatouille: It's Disney and the best reviewed.
About the case of Beowulf, I read various news about the polemic of the "real" caracters of the film and I think the film has more changes in other categories. Remember the snubbed of "polar express" three years ago

Polar Express wasn't "snubbed" it wasn't nominated because it wasn't good.
