Another category gets help narrowing the films which should be nominated at the Oscars come January 24th. The ASC has posted its list of nominees and this should be a close one:

Anthony Dod Mantle - Slumdog Millionaire
Claudio Miranda - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Wally Pfister - The Dark Knight

I am somewhat shocked that 'Australia' was ignored by the cinematographers, as that was about the only thing that kept me in the theater for that overblown mess. Doesn't Mr. Deakins have to win this year? Didn't he also shoot 'Doubt'? He should have won last year for 'No Country for Old Men.'
