Critics Awards and Golden Globe nominations

This week is going to be a huge one. Some of the hardest awards to predict (critics' awards) start this week. Today, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (LAFCA) announce their winners. Since this is the first precursor, apart from NBR, I have nothing to base these off except trends from LAFCA's past winners, which I've looked over. My predictions for the LAFCA:

Best Picture: I'm Not There
Best Director: Julian Schnabel, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Best Actor: Johnny Depp, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Best Actress: Julie Christie, Away from Her
Best Supporting Actor: Javier Bardem, No Country for Old Men
Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett, I'm Not There
Best Screenplay: Tony Gilroy, Michael Clayton
Best Cinematography: Roger Deakins, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
Best Music: Dario Marianelli, Atonement
Best Documentary: Sicko
Best Foreign Language Film: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Best Animated Film: Ratatouille
Best Production Design: Atonement

My Best Picture prediction is obviously a little off balance but I wanted to try and predict something wild, since this is the first critics' precursor, and see what happens. Anyway, then tomorrow we have the New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) and Boston Society of Film Critics. Tuesday, the Broadcast Film Critics Awards (BFCA) nominees are announced. And then Thursday...Golden Globe nominations. Stay tuned.
