A Look at Best Film Editing

The nominees are...

The Bourne Ultimatum
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Into the Wild
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood

I PREDICTED: 3/5. I had American Gangster and Michael Clayton in place of The Bourne Ultimatum and Into the Wild.
I'VE SEEN: 4/5. All but Bourne. I should probably get to seeing that.

THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM-This nod shows, if nothing else, that the Academy came much closer to nominating Bourne for some big awards than any of us imagined. However, this category tends to be a BP indicator, and without any Big 8 nods, don't count on it.

THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY-The editing here is strong, but, especially without a BP nod, it can't hope for all that much here...probably.

INTO THE WILD-I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but...HOW THE HELL DID THIS GET NOMINATED????????? The editing was the main problem here. This two and a half hour annoyance could have easily been cut by 45 minutes. Ugh. However, with only one Big 8 nod, it's not gonna win.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN-As I said earlier, this is a good BP indicator, and No Country is a lock. It'll take this with ease.

THERE WILL BE BLOOD-If something upsets No Country, this'll be it, but the odds of that happening are slim to none.

WILL WIN: No Country for Old Men
SHOULD WIN: There Will Be Blood

IN ORDER OF LIKELINESS:
1. No Country for Old Men
2. There Will Be Blood
3. The Bourne Ultimatum
4. Into the Wild
5. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

TOMORROW: Best Documentary Feature

And yay for the strike being over!!!

You, uh...might wanna rethink this one ;D. Bourne just won the ACE guild award, and they've matched up w/ the Oscar winner every year since 2001.
