A Look at Best Original Song

The nominees for this ridiculously underrated category are...

"Falling Slowly" - Once
"Happy Working Song" - Enchanted
"Raise It Up" - August Rush
"So Close" - Enchanted
"That's How You Know"- Enchanted

I PREDICTED: 2/5; I got Falling Slowly and That's How You Know. But I seriously doubt that anyone thought Enchanted could pull a Dreamgirls in this category. And if you predicted August Rush, I had "Grace is Gone" (Grace is Gone), "Come So Far (Got So Far to Go)" (Hairspray) and "Guaranteed" (Into the Wild) in their place.
I'VE SEEN: 4/5...or 2/3. Saw Once and Enchanted.

"FALLING SLOWLY" - ONCE-I'm not predicting this because "when Dreamgirls had three nominations it lost! That means Enchanted will lose!", as I can't stand when people use upsets as an excuse to make stupid predictions. No, I'm predicting this because it's a gorgeous, simple and very powerful song that AMPAS will probably love.

"HAPPY WORKING SONG" - ENCHANTED-This is actually my favorite song from the movie, and I can kind of see it pulling off an upset, but, more than likely, the nomination was the reward.

"RAISE IT UP" - AUGUST RUSH-Apparently the 10 people that actually saw this film were members of the Academy. I'm sure this is a good song, but I doubt it had enough viewers to make a meaningful impact.

"SO CLOSE" - ENCHANTED-Uh...did I miss this song? I don't remember a thing about it...

"THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW" - ENCHANTED-This cleverly choreographed, upbeat, fun song is Enchanted's most likely winner. But it could succumb to vote-splitting, or the fact that, while this song is perfect for what it is, it's no "Falling Slowly."

WILL WIN: "Falling Slowly" - Once
SHOULD WIN: "Falling Slowly" - Once

1. "Falling Slowly" - Once
2. "That's How You Know" - Enchanted
3. "Happy Working Song" - Enchanted
4. "Raise it Up" - August Rush
5. "So Close" - Enchanted

TOMORROW: Best Original Score

The Academy sees three minute clips of all songs in competition

Well I became number 11 apparently seeing this film last night and I thought it deserved the oscar.
